How many students per team? How many teams per university?
Each team may consist of up to four undergraduate students. Each university may send up to two teams.
What do the winners receive?
Each member of the winning team receives a $2,000 TXAPA Scholarship. Each member of the second-place team gets a $1,000 TXAPA Scholarship.
What is the travel stipend, and who receives it?
TXAPA provides a travel stipend to student team members who achieve full participation in the competition. Full participation means the student is an active team member (not a guest or observer), attends the entire event, and remains for the full duration of the competition.
The stipend may be used to offset travel, meals, and lodging expenses. In addition, all attendees have access to discounted rates at select local hotels. To receive these rates, you must book using the provided hotel registration links. Please note that the Asphalt Road-eo does not coordinate travel arrangements.
When will I receive my travel stipend?
Eligible student team members will receive a check within 30 days following the competition. You will be prompted by a volunteer to fill out a sign-in sheet with a valid mailing address before the judging panel.
What if my team cannot attend the welcome dinner?
Teams are not required to attend the welcome dinner. Teams must check in and be ready to start the competition by 8 AM on April 11, 2026.
