Gloria Tapia works for Texas Materials as a driver and super dump operator. She is responsible for picking up and delivering asphalt and aggregate to different locations and cities. She is proud to mentor new employees, ensuring they learn proper procedures and safety protocols as they transition to their new roles. Tapia emphasizes communication as the key to keeping things running smoothly. Gloria's career has taken her down many roads. She worked for Caterpillar making engine blocks and on Toyota's assembly line before finally deciding to pursue her dream of becoming a truck driver. She worked in long-haul trucking for a couple of years and once delivered a truckload of water to Florida for FEMA. The experience catalyzed her decision to come home from the road. That's when Texas materials came into her life. Gloria is an avid listener who likes to trade stories and experiences with others in the asphalt pavement industry. When asked what she would bring to the panel, she says, "I want to let women know that they can do anything they put their minds to and never to give up!"
