Jayci grew up immersed in the construction industry alongside her father, Josh Houston, which sparked an early appreciation for the field. She began her own path in construction during her junior year of college with a marketing internship at the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association. After graduating from the University of Mississippi, Jayci moved to Dallas and worked in sales, quickly realizing how much she missed the strong community found within the construction industry.

Her desire to return to that environment led her to San Marcos, Texas, where she joined KLP Construction Supply. Jayci has since relocated back to Houston to be closer to family and now serves as a Marketing Assistant at Kimley-Horn, supporting engineers with proposal development and providing versatile assistance to her team.
