Golf Tournament Benefiting the TXAPA Scholarship Program

Event Details

• When: Monday, September 8
• Where: La Cantera Resort & Spa Resort Course
• Check-In: 8:30 AM – 9:45 AM
• Shotgun Start: is at 10:00 AM
• Reception and Awards: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Format

Four-person scramble with a maximum score of par on any hole. If you miss your birdie putt, pick up your ball and move to the next hole. Ladies will play from the jade tees and men from the silver tees. You may move your ball up to one scorecard length.

Prizes

First place wins $400, second place $300, and third place $200. Winners will be drawn from the ten teams with the lowest scores. The last-place team will also receive special recognition. All prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the tournament in the Palo Duro Pavilion.

Two Mulligans were included in your registration.

Contests

• Hole Contest: There will be a closest-to-the-pin contest on holes 6 and 13 and a long drive contest on holes 1 and 10. The winners of each contest will receive $80.
• Extortion Contest ($20 donation per shot): This year’s extortion hole (17) contest is sponsored by Purple Wave Auction. Landing on the green automatically scores a par, and landing within a 30-foot circle earns you an automatic birdie and enters you into a drawing for a T9 Voice Caddie Smart Watch. No putting is allowed on this hole.
• Tiger Drive Contest: Hole 5 features the Tiger Drive contest, sponsored by KLP Construction Supply. For a $100 donation, your team can advance to the spot where Tiger Woods' tee shot would land. From there, you’ll hit your second shot. If you reach the green on your second shot, you'll automatically score an Eagle for the hole. All participating teams will be entered to win a prize package from KLP Construction Supply.
• The Happy Gilmore Putt-Off: Introducing “The Happy Gilmore Putt-Off” contest on hole 3! With a $100 donation, your team earns an automatic birdie. Each team member will then putt (with Happy Gilmore’s Putter, donated by Ingevity) from a predetermined spot, and the golfer who gets closest to the hole or sinks the putt wins a round of golf for four at La Cantera, generously donated by La Cantera Golf Club. In the event of a tie, a "putt off" will occur on the putting green by the clubhouse.
