Charles Gurganus has split his 20-year career evenly between industry and research and academia. He was in the highway industry from 2004 to 2014, eventually serving as the TxDOT Longview Area Engineer. In 2014, Charles joined the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) as a research engineer. At TTI, Charles served as the Pavement Management Program Manager, and was the Deputy Director for the Center for Infrastructure Renewal from 2021-2023. Charles recently accepted a position as an Associate Professor with the Texas A&M Construction Science Department. As a faculty member, he will continue his transportation research in the multidisciplinary growth of heavy highway construction and management.
