Robert began in TxDOT career in the Odessa District in 1994 and was responsible for the hazardous materials program and lead the district’s ‘Safety Points of Contact’ to develop and deploy the district safety program. In 2007, he accepted a promotion to lead the Dallas district safety team - a district with a strong safety culture and an excellent safety record. While in Dallas, the district made tremendous strides in meeting aggressive safety goals in the areas of recordable vehicle incidents and lost work days due to on the job injuries. Robert joined the Occupational Safety Division in 2011, currently he works as Section Director of Safety Operations. He works closely with field operations in an effort to deliver a proactive approach in TxDOT’s overall risk management program. Robert was born and raised in Colorado City, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications.
